Hmm, look strange. The beeping is when system is switching to battery (even momentary) so you can not see it with your eyes. If you changed the battery, PSU and the beeping still exists, and disappear only when changing the PIco, then seems PIco charger or its capacitor is faulty ( drawing more current).

As far I remember you have it 5 years or more, so possible that something has been bad after such time (I do not know under what conditions are you still using it)

I have few units here, so even after such long time I send you one for free, but lets first check what is wrong.

If you can send me a short video, so help me to see what is wrong.

Hi,

Sorry for my late replying, but I was on the Raspberry Pi 2024 Event in London. The UPS PIco (each HV version - 3, 3B+, 4 and 5) can periodically switch to battery. In that case, the beeping (it is easier to recognize than LED flashing). This is happening because the cable powering is not enough, and the power monitoring algorithm, sometimes detect small power glitches. It is not a big case, and if you not like to change the power source (PSU) to stronger can stay with this.

As battery is very old - normally should be max 3-4 years old and not older, this can cause more current requirements, so that cause periodically glitches on the PCU. Please replace the battery and if not help use a stronger PSU.

I have a Pi 3 Model B Rev 1.2 running Stretch with a HV3.0A/fw38 PiCo board. The unit and setup are several years old and are running headless, 7x24 at a remote location. I recently visited the site and determined that the unit is functioning correctly, but it makes an irregular beep noise, however no LEDs are flashing.

For sure the battery is several years old and I will replace it, but first I want to know if there is another problem with the UPS board. I looked through the documentation but did not quickly find anything about beeping without also LED's flashing....Thanks....RDK
